Growing Old

Good morning! Well just heard on the morning news, the fire that started in Castle Valley has now spread through the LaSal National Forest. It jumped from 800 acres to 3000! The LaSal Mountain Loop road is closed. This is a favorite area of ours to ride motorcycles. We enjoy taking a couple of days in the fall and going to Moab with the motorhome and a bike in a trailer to ride and take in the beautiful scenery. I am very sad to hear this news. They believe is was started by lightening on Wednesday.

This did not photograph well, sorry. Must be the lighting or just not giving camera time to focus. This is another stamp from Cloud Nine and the flourish from Autumn Leaves. Got both sets from Becky.

Gotta go now. We have a full schedule today, got a load of toppers in yesterday and everyone is antsy to get them on for the long holiday weekend! Enjoy your long weekend and should you be traveling, I wish you a safe trip. We are staying home, not in the mood for crowds. I have a commitment ceremony tomorrow in Montrose, Dwight & Lafe are going to keep the business open till around noon.

Happy Birthday

Good Morning and thanks for stopping by. Yesterday evening while we were out exercising the dogs we saw a slurry bomber and sure enough the news reported a couple of fires burning near us , one in Castle Valley, UT and on in Gateway, thought it looked a little hazy the last couple of days.

Sorry about the image did not photograph very well. I used more of the same paper from SEI.

Thanks again for stoping by and have a great day. Hope you will stop by again!

Happiness

Good Morning! How about the thunder and lightening last night. It was straight over our house! At least it brought some nice rain!

I thought this card could be used for many occasions such as a wedding, valentine, or anniversary card. The heart stamp is from Stampendous, the words from SU and the CS from SU as well. I colored the hearts & flowers with markers, then added crystal effects to the hearts and sprinkled glitter on them. I popped the image up. I liked the way it turned out and believe it or not was pretty much an original idea!

Well better get a move on! Have a wonderful Wednesday and thank you for stopping by, hope you will again tomorrow!

Have a terrific Tuesday and I hope you will stop by again tomorrow!

In a meeting

Good Morning! Thank you for stopping by!

This is another stamp from American Art stamps. Sure would love to be at that meeting lol. I am thinking it would be very productive! Sitting on a sandy beach soakin up some rays, sounds like the perfect place to hold a meeting!

Gotta get a move on things to do and places to be! Have a great day!

Proof

Good Morning! Gotta go into work for a while, then I am going to come home and get started on doing some laundry and cleaning around the house.

My in-laws went home yesterday, sis-in-law finally got released! She has been fighting this thing in her gut since Apr 15th! Bet they were glad to get back to their home in Norwood!

Today's post is a stamp from American Art Stamps. Most of you know how much I love my dogs. Klondike (aka little white dog), Miles, & Bullseye. Miles had some minor surgery done on Thurs. He had a growth removed and they are sending it off to Pathogy to determine what it is. The downside to it, is he cannot swim in the pond for 10 days. That is going to kill us all! Must keep him active or he gets into mischief!

Thank you for stopping by and have a super Saturday!

Love

Good Morning! Moving a little slower than usual. Did not sleep very well last night.

Almost blew off posting today. Did not have anything new made up, so I dug through my stash and found this card that I had given to Dwight for Valentine's Day 2005'. He started riding at 14 yrs old and is still going strong at 64! He currently owns a 2006 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic and a 2008 Buell Ulyesses.

Thank you for stopping by and have a fabulous Friday!

Ruff

Good Morning! Thank you for stopping by!
Most of you know that Teresa & I volunteer every 3rd Wed of the monthto cook at the homeless shelter. Well that was last night. We fed 70 people. That is a high number for this time of year. I suppose it goes along with the population growth we have been experiencing. I discovered last night that the shelter only has a $400.00 a year food budget. So they rely on the community to donate food items. Through my business I provide the food on the night we volunteer. In the near future I will be out asking for donations, please be praying about this for me.
These stamps are by CTMH. Gotta run, have a terrifice Thursday! ( this is my humpday lol)

Born to Ride

Good morning! Thank you for stopping by!

This is my favorite time of year to ride motorcycles. Whether it be road bikes, dirt bikes, or ATV's. The spring can be too windy, the summer too hot, but late summer and early fall is just perfect!

Have a wonderful Wednesday! Hope you stop by again tomorrow!

Road to Recovery

Good Morning to all! We had a wonderful motorcycle ride yesterday. Went to Gateway, Naturita, Norwood, then to Telluride. Had lunch in Telluride then back home by way of Ridgeway to Montrose, Delta, then Junction. 310 miles, my left sit bone was sore! Then stopped by Long Park for a picnic to celebrate my Brother in Law's 60th bithday! What great day we had. We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful state!

I made this card for a friend that was ill. The picture pretty much explains itself, I think the motorcycle is from a SU set and the word stamp I borrowed from Becky, think it is from Ann-ticipations.

Thank you for stopping by and have a terrific Tuesday!

Birthday Wishes

Good morning to all! And I must say it is a beautiful one at that! I slept like a baby last night! Feel great!

This card is for all you race fans out there! Made this while watching the race yesterday! Love to watch Carl Edwards do his back flip! Very good looking driver! I am a fan of Kasey Kahne's, he did not finish had problems with car (boo hoo!). My all time favorite is Kyle Petty! Such a nice guy and I love his hair! This was labor intensive but very fun to make. The stamps are from CTMH, I used a Stamping Around Wheel from SU for the "tire treads" . I used Tim Holt's black soot distressing ink. Cut out the flag, and helmet . (and you all know how much I like to cut out lol) getting better the more I do it. Anyway very fun to make, hope you like it.

Well better get a move on. We are going on a motorcyle ride, think to Telluride. Have not been there in a while. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Hello Friend

Good Morning! Isn't this weather just fabulous! Lovin it!

Went on a really nice motorcycle ride yesterday evening. Took the new Riverside Parkway, very nice! We got on, of course at 25 Rd & 6&50. Instead of going south to Orchard Mesa we continued west to D Road, heading to Palisade. Took D Road to D 1/2 to 33 1/2 Road then on to Palisade Peach Festival (Road past all my old stomping grounds), however, they were tearing down when we got there, I thought it was going on till today? Oh well, then we got on I-70 to Fruita and had supper at El Taptio's very good authentic Mexican Food. Wish they would join the Chamber of Commerce. Mary Lou will not eat there for that reason.

Today's post is again a very quick & easy one. Pretty much explains itself , the stamp is from Hero Arts and the flower is popped up.

Enjoy your day and Thanks for stopping by!

In my thoughts

Good Morning! How about this weather, sure is a nice relief from a week ago! Promises to be a beautiful day in River City! Glad I decided not to sleep in would have missed a glorious morning!

Am a little tired this morning, did not get enough sleep last night, that little white dog of mine, he kept me up jumping on and off the bed, something sure had him excited last night. Did not bother my DH, he slept right through it all. Must be the full moon! He will settle down in a few days I'm sure.

I made this card for a special friend of mine. Thought it could be used for many occasions. Very quick & easy to make. The BG paper is from BO Bunny, the stamp from Hero Arts. The heart is popped up with dimensionals. Hope you enjoy.

Well better get a move on. I want to get to work early, get my work done, then come home and catch a nap. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Young voice

Good Morning! Isn't it just a fabulous morning! Even though I have not been sleeping very well the past few nights. Judy reminded me that a full moon is developing and that does indeed affect my sleeping patterns. Blame it on the Moon! (and whitedog as well).

Was surfing Addicted to Rubberstamps website and low and behold American Art Stamps were on sale. Well I just could not pass up a sale! This stamp just happened to end up in my shopping basket, can you imagine my surprise! My order arrived in the mail yesterday, ripped open the box and came up with this card! Don't know about you but things really started changing for me at around age 45. Never had to wear glasses in my life, went to the Eye Doctor (who just happens to be a former classmate) after the exam, he explains in laymans terms "my eyes are getting older , just part of the aging process and then he goes on to reassure me that I am not the only one in our class that he has put in quote "bifocals" lol. From there it just goes on and on. Lumps & bumps started showing up here and there. Found someone's lost pounds. Yup, gave them a home in my belly. Darn belly fat, and believe me girlfriends the medicine they advertise just does not work, been there done that! Oh well it is what it is and thank goodness there is still a young voice inside me! And one more thing laughter is the best medicine to take for, that darn belly fat!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fun filled Friday!

Happy Birthday

Good Morning! What a beautiful morning it is here in River City!

This is truly a simple card no cutting layering or embellishments, just simple stamping. Kinda freeing. Very quick & easy. Got the idea from Papercrafts magazine. The BG stamp is from Stampendous, the flourish from Autumn Leaves and the medallion from CTMH. HB from Stampa Rosa. CS is SU Buckaroo Blue.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Dance, Sing, Love, Live

Good Morning! Thank you for stopping by!
Was rumaging through my many stamps to find one to inspire me and this stamp from Penny Black did it for me. Have had it for quite some time, I think this is the first time I have ever used it. The abstract dancer from Stamp in the Hand went right along with.
Remember these stamps, Celisa? We sure did love them back in the day! Was a lot of fun to revisit them. This is basic simple stamping, I used 5 different stamps to create it. The basic card is black CS, then I took a peice of Basic Grey paper, I think it was from the vagabond series. I stamped it with linen BG stamp from SU with grey ink. The divider stamp is from CTMH and the flourish from Autumn leaves.
Better get a move on! Have a terrific day and remember to Dance, Sing, Love, & Live!

HBTY

Good Morning! The crickets are chirping, must be nearing the end of summer! This weather we have been having the last few days has been fantastic! I am luvin' it!

The layout for this card came from one of Becky's card classes. I embossed the stamping in gold. The stamps are from Coud Nine. And remember the Cottage Stamper!? The veins are stamped in gold and punched out. Probably should have gold embossed the veins as well. The specks are a stamp from Magenta. Whew! what a mouthful!

Have a Great Day! Thank you for stopping by!

Happy

Good morning to all! And I must say it is an absolutely beautiful. The weather is perfect! And I had a very good night sleep!
This is a layout Becky came up with at a card class. The stamp is from Hero Arts, the paper is Sweetwater, and not sure who makes the balloon punch.
Here's to wishing you all a terrific day!

Knee Mail

Good Morning! Holy Moly the morning is almost over! Oh well I don't seem to get an early start on Sunday's anyway. The routine at this house is to wake up have coffee in bed and watch CBS Sunday Morning. Then breakfast and chores!

Went to a special birthday party last night for one of my BFF daughter. It was her 30th. Hard to believe it, have been a part of this girl's life since she was 5 yrs old. Been there for birthday's, HS graduation, College graduation, her wedding. She has grown into a beautiful woman. Had a wonderful time! We visited with friends we have not seen in a while. It is a shame that we allow life to get in the way of spending time with those we love! Hope my pictures turn out used the disposable digital camera from the raft trip.

Well better get a move on the "chore fairy" does not visit this house lol. And I have got to get some stamping done to post this week. Been stamping on the fly and frankly that is a little stressful. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Life is fun

Good morning! It is a beautiful one at that. I must have been very tired cuz I slept right through the storm last night, either that or we did not get the weather Becky got!

Yep, you guessed it, my inspiration came from last night's event! Did we ever have a blast! Forty crazy woman on the river yesterday evening! Not much networking done, I'm afraid, but did alot of splishin and a splashin ! Great fun had by all. You should try it sometime! We put in at Rimrock Adventures and got out at the Loma boat ramp. Had fun hoopin' and a hollerin ' at the truckers, I kinda think they got a kick out of us as well. I just could not get the word stamp to come out very crisp, sorry, but I decided to use it anyway. Remember Stampa Rosa, well that is where the raft stamp came from. Had it in my store and now it belongs in my collection. Boy that was a few years back!

Hope you have a fun filled day!

Secret

Good morning! I for one have enjoyed this rain we have been having, in spite of the humidity! Takes some getting used to!
Well I whipped this card up just a few minutes ago, not real happy with the image, maybe my ink pad is a little dry. Oh well it is what it is, with all the goings on my last days off have not had a lot of time for stamping. And the color combination I used did not photograph well. So Saffron, Cool Carribean, & Taken with Teal. The stamp is another from Cloud Nine.
I am going on a sunset raft trip down the Colorado River this evening with my Women in Business girl pals. Should be a terrific time of networking and just having plan old fun and laughs galore! I am soooo jazzed! I used to do alot of rafting in my younger years.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a day full of new beginnings!

Be young again

Good morning to all! Today promises to be muggy! I for one did not want to get out of bed this morning. Would enjoy a lazy day, but not today, got things to do and places to be.

Hope you are still enjoying these girls. This stamp is one of my all time favorites, works very well for a birthday card. Don't know about you, but as for me I like to be reminded every now & then of the youth that still lives inside of me. Let her out and have a little fun! Wear a silly hat and high top tennis shoes, now that is what I am talking about!

Thanks again for stopping by. Have a fun and fabulous day!

Youth

Good morning to all! Hope the weatherman's prediction comes true and we get some rain today.

Just got these cool stamps from Becky last night. They are from Cloud Nine. I sure do like Frank Lloyd Wright's take on aging. Something I for one am going to work on!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Good morning to all! Just got home from hospital, met with the Doctor about my Stepdad's condition. All tests have came back normal. He had a TIA or "mini stroke" and has completley recovered. They are releasing him this morning and with the proper medications there is a good chance of preventing further strokes.

I was inspired for this post by a card Doreen did at her recent mystery hostess gathering. Very simple 6x6 layout. I have so many of these prima flowers was happy to find a place for this size. Hope you are inspired as well.

Thank you for stopping by and hope you will again tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

Be glad

Boy howdy, this day has darn near slipped away! Whew, and it has been a muggy one at that!
Got up and hurried to hospital to check on my Dad, was hoping to catch a doctor doing rounds, no such luck. Oh well he is getting good care. He is stable, so now we will just hide & watch. Thank you for the kind words of encouragement.
As you can see, today's post is just a simple layout to showcase the sentiment. The stamps are from CTMH. Paper is from SU and Scenic Route.
Thank you for stopping by and have a nice evening.

Promise

Good afternoon! What a day I have had! Just as I was preparing to post today, got a call from my Mother and to make a long story short, my Stepdad had a stroke. So we have spent several hours at St. Mary's ER. He is stable and appears to be back to normal. They have decided to admit him for observation. I decided to come home while they were getting him settled into his room.

This stamp sure did speak to me today. I like her perspective on life's ups and downs.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your evening with your families. I know I will.

Pearls of Wisdom

Good Morning to all! It is a beautiful morning here in River City. It cooled off very nicely last night, made for good sleeping conditions. I for one got a good night sleep and I feel great! Ready to take on the challenges of a new day lol!
Yup, you guessed today's post was inspired by Becky, loved her black & white card she posted earlier in the week. The flourish stamp is by Hero Arts and the text by Penny Black.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the gifts today offers!

Tulips in summer

Good morning to all. Can't beleive it is already Friday and the first day of August as well! My oh my!
My inspiration for today's post came from Deb. But of course I had to put my thinking cap on because I did not have the stamps nor the designer paper to copy exactly. The flower stamp is from Magenta, the stamps I used for the background layer from Autumn Leaves, the paper, ink, & ribbon from SU. Hope you enjoy!
Thank you for stopping by. Have a fun Friday! Be sure to stay hydrated in this heat!
